Fine base for 2 nights. Everything was nice: staff and food. The breakfast had plenty of options and included croissants, fresh fruit and porridge. When I arrived the host was friendly. Early check-in was a bonus.

My experience was AMAZING, everything was perfect. Loved how very clean the room was.

We thought are room was excellent and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. It was a little walk from the centre but this meant you were away from the city bustle so it was quite relaxing.

Pleasant welcome, helpful people, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, cleanliness.
Bathroom and shower medium. Location perhaps good for others, particularly with cars, but a little far from Bowness village and pier for us.

There was a loveley welcome when we arrived with tea and cakes. The room was decorated to a very high standard with lovely towels and bedding and lovely products available in the bathroom, I would highly reccomend anyone to stay at the Chestnuts we could not fault it in any way. The breakfast was alway cooked to perfection. I would like to say a big thankyou to Heather and Nigel who made our special trip truely special...Jayne & Mark Johnson

The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was brilliant and Heather and Nigel are fantastic hosts. A lovely holiday in a lovely home.

It was well situated for us and was not in a noisey area.food was good ,We only stayed one night but would stay there again if we were in the area.

the welcome coffee with some cake was a nice touch. The staff was nice and friendly. Walking distance to both the lake and into town.
the room was smaller than I tought as it was a double superior room, Felt like they put us in the wrong room and this was only a standard double room.

Very friendly proprietors. Exceptionally comfortable room which included filter coffee and a cafetiere in the tea/coffee facilities - perfect for my caffeine habit! Super-comfy bed so we slept very well indeed. Cooked breakfast was extremely good. This is a great little hotel and there is nothing not to like about it!

The effort put into making the rooms that bit more special was a nice touch. The breakfast was 5 star and believe me I have eaten in so called 5 star hotels and this was far superior. Free WIFI a must nowadays and I was able to get the signal in my room. Read a few complaints about the showers but don't let them put you off, the showers are not luxury and yes the rooms could do with updating but at such an affordable rate and first class cleanliness I don't hesitate to recommend Chestnuts. Excellent private parking for everyone. My 12th visit to the lakes & the best accomodation yet.

Myself and my 15 year old daughter found the hotel incredibly well placed for travelling to the various destinations we had planned to visit - such as Windermere,Grasmere,Sawrey and Hawkshead. The rooms were very comfortable and cleanliness throughout the whole hotel could not be faulted - it was to the highest standard. In addition breakfast offered a very good choice and was excellently served and presented.We would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again.

We were greeted well and offered a cup of tea on arrival. The room was clean with an ensuite and four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of two additionl specials.
Nothing it was good value for money.
